As a Principal and an Industrial Market Leader, he is responsible for overseeing and leading the growth of the industrial market on the West Coast and managing projects from initial planning through the completion of construction. Along with his architectural experience, Cory’s background in construction provides him with a unique perspective on all projects and helps him to communicate effectively with the construction teams.

Known by his clients and colleagues as an effective collaborator, Erik Andersen has led design efforts on transformational projects for prominent medical centers and large institutional clients across the U.S. and internationally. He leverages his 30 plus years of design experience in the planning and design of healthcare, education, and research environments. Adam Bachtel | Principal
Adam is responsible for leading the concept, design, documentation, production, and delivery of the firm’s planning and landscape architecture projects. He entered the field in 2012 and has leveraged his design-oriented approach, problem-solving skills, and strong graphic sense to advance elegant design solutions and ultimately create sustainable spaces that promote well-being. Adam brings a refreshing spirit towards design-thinking and continuously strives for more innovative and creative solutions. Utilizing the latest tools and techniques developed through the design process, he continues to push landscape architecture boundaries.

Joe Crawford | Vice President, Engineering | Clayco Design & Engineering
Joe has 34 years’ experience in the architectural/civil/structural field including 29 years’ experience as a project engineer, coordinating all engineering disciplines in design of food, beverage and industrial/ process related facilities. His experience includes client program management of accounts and capital plans involving planning and engineering of new facilities and rehabilitation of existing plants. His project experience includes engineering and construction sequencing, scheduling of project work during plant shutdowns, and overall bid package planning and assembly. He also has been involved in up front project budgeting and cash flow for Owners to achieve internal Owner project appropriation procedures to meet overall project goals.

Ellen entered the design industry in 2008. She is responsible for assisting with the design of the interior architecture and renovation and the technical development of projects, as well as the coordination of the design with the Project Design Team members.

Sarah has led teams on a variety of developments across the globe, including office buildings, hotels, higher education, and high rise, in both new construction and adaptive reuse. As a registered architect in 42 states, including California, Lamar leads a multi-disciplinary practice that invigorates his clients’ businesses by expressing their values, supporting their culture, and their legacy through architecture. In understanding his client’s objectives, Lamar is an active listener and a strong leader in facilitating, coordinating, and implementing a client’s vision. Lamar moved to Chicago more than 20 years ago to open and lead a new office for a large global design firm. Under his leadership, the firm grew to become the largest architecture firm in the Chicago area, providing services to the region’s most prestigious clients.
Actively involved with civic, community, and not-for-profit organizations, Lamar serves on the Cristo Rey Board of Directors and is a member of the Economic Club of Chicago.

David Junge, AIA | Industrial Market Leader
David has been in the industrial building design and construction industry for more than 32 years. As Chief Executive Officer of LJC, Kapil Khanna focuses on overall firm management. As a member of the executive leadership team, he is responsible for providing direction for both the business strategy and the implementation of initiatives to support the firm’s growth. Kapil works across all disciplines of the enterprise to seek out opportunities for greater alignment and integration to make positive impacts on our most complex projects.
A veteran of the design industry, Kapil has provided project management on some of the region’s largest and most complex projects for healthcare and academic systems, including Cook County Health & Hospitals System’s Stroger Hospital Central Campus, University of Chicago Medicine Center for Care and Discovery Parking Garage, Orange Regional Medical Center Outpatient Care Center and Cancer Center Expansion; as well as extensive projects with Higher Education and Healthcare facilities across the US prior to joining LJC.

Woo Young Kim, AIA, LEED AP BD + C | Principal
Woo Young is responsible for overseeing the work of the design team, guiding the project from concept to completion, and participating in the development of the project. Woo Young has been strongly influenced by urban and architectural design. This has shaped his process and comprehension of architecture. Michael Krager, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP | Principal
Michael brings 36 years of experience in all project phases and responsibilities and has held significant roles in management, staff development, and architectural design. These projects include life sciences, commercial buildings, corporate offices, healthcare institutions and sports facilities. He has experience in developing and managing projects through all phases of design, building code review, specifications, quality process, and project administration. In addition, he has served in leadership roles for overall project coordination for numerous multi-million-dollar projects involving various delivery methods. His design and management style are one of collaboration and communication, which allows him to quickly gain the trust of his clients, team members and collaborators.

Victor’s expertise is instrumental to how we maintain a collaborative atmosphere while delivering the highest quality design. When he’s not working on the next project, he sketches new concepts and finds creative solutions to architectural problems.
Shelby Kroeger | Director of Communications and Marketing
Shelby is LJC’s chief brand ambassador. With more than 20 years of marketing experience in the A/E/C industry, she leads the strategic messaging and visual representation of LJC’s Brand. In addition, Shelby leads a small but mighty creative team that produces the firm’s high-volume marketing and communications deliverables. She fosters a collaborative approach with LJC’s Market Leaders and project teams in celebrating their successes via strategic content production. An active photographer, Shelby is passionate about the visual representation of our firm’s work and culture and the impact of these on our clients and colleagues.
My-Nga Lam, AIA, LEED AP, NCARB | Residential Market Leader
As an architect in Chicago for over 20 years, My-Nga has left her mark on the industry, the firms she has worked with, and iconic properties in Chicago and beyond. As design principal, My-Nga oversees all design work in luxury residential and hospitality projects. With a keen understanding of lifestyle needs and how people genuinely occupy their spaces, she leads an insightful, strategic design process that balances the goals of the clients, the needs of the end user, and the inherent interplay between a building and its surroundings.
David Lewis | Principal
David has curated a diverse background in the engineering and construction field since entering the industry in 1966. His projects include numerous types and sizes, where he plays a role during pre-construction, construction, and commissioning. David works the prec-onstruction phase with development of bid packages for design build and coordinating the M/E design efforts. Also, he provides the technical input and specifications for equipment purchasing of mechanical/electrical systems with CDC.

A licensed architect in the State of California, Kate Lyle, NCARB, has been involved in the industry since 2005, specializing in complex project types including cold storage, food processing and food distribution since 2011. She sits on the Controlled Environments Building Association (CEBA) Board of Directors. In addition, she is part of CEBA’s Construction and Codes Committee, and involved in subcommittees focused on food safety and requirements for smoke ventilation in refrigerated facilities.
