Teaming with Clayco as the developer and design-builder, LJC was the Executive Architect responsible for implementing and delivering the new nine-story Central Campus Health Center for Cook County Health. LJC led the integration and coordination of a multi-disciplinary team of architects and engineers throughout this transformational project’s design and construction phase.
The Center replaced the aging Fantus Clinic and connects the new and expanded ambulatory services to the adjacent John H. Stroger In-Patient Hospital at multiple levels, improving patient and staff access. The Center provides state-of-the-art Medical Oncology, Infusion, Dental, General Medicine, Oral Health, Dermatology, Ophthalmology and other specialty outpatient services. Additional components include five levels of administrative and professional office space, new emergency drive and access road realignments, demolishing the outdated Fantus Clinic, and extensive site work, including the relocation of the existing bulk oxygen tank farm.
