HonorHealth on Shea Parking Garage

1 2 3 4 / 4

LJC was selected to work with HonorHealth on a new, 4-story parking garage structure to support the Shea Medical Center labor and delivery building. The garage will provide 466 parking stalls, helping to address issues with the current surface lot, where daily demand exceeds capacity. These conditions have created traffic challenges around the 90th Street lights, the hospital entrance and patient drop-off, and nearby private lots.

The landscape design enhances the site with a variety of native and drought-resistant plants that frame the Shea Medical Center entrance. Water harvesting is a central feature, with two retention gardens north of the garage designed to capture rainwater while also offering seating and areas of respite for visitors. Between the garage and the existing medical center, a pedestrian plaza will provide café-style seating surrounded by native plantings, creating both a welcoming social space and a flexible venue for community events.

Architecturally, the garage will be clad with custom perforated bronze metal panels along the north, west, and south façades, wrapping the exit stairs at the northwest and northeast corners, as well as the pedestrian bridge. The ground floor will be painted a warm brown to complement the bronze panels, contrasting with the light beige finish of the upper levels. At the southwest corner, space has been reserved for a painted mural that will bring an artistic touch visible to passing pedestrians.
