The project vision for WestRock’s new corrugated box plant in Longview, Washington, centered on creating a highly functional, durable, and efficient industrial space to support the firm’s operational needs while enhancing their brand presence.

The initial design concept was inspired by unique site constraints, prioritizing the seamless integration of truck docks, railcar flow, and circulation. The design team utilized tilt-up concrete walls to expedite construction and for their long-term durability, ensuring the facility could withstand the rigors of industrial use. The facility’s interior features branded public spaces, administrative offices with direct factory floor views, training rooms, break rooms, and lab spaces all tailored to promote productivity and employee well-being.

The new freestanding manufacturing facility not only bolsters WestRock’s operational capacity but also positively impacts the surrounding community by bringing new industrial capabilities to the area. Key design elements such as an aluminum and glass storefront, steel building and roof framing, TPO roofing, and polished concrete floors highlight the facility’s modern and durable aesthetic.

Reflecting WestRock’s corporate identity, the design incorporates company logos, signage, and distinctive colors and materials, both externally and within public interior spaces. This project stands as a testament to LJC’s ability to deliver innovative and client-focused industrial projects.
