Schnucks Markets Cold Storage

Schnucks Markets Inc., one of the largest private companies in the St. Louis region, selected LJC as its architect for a new distribution center in North St. Louis County. The 1,000,000 SF distribution facility services 100 stores in five states. The project contains over 400,000 SF of cold storage, including a 28-degree meat room, wet and dry produce rooms, and 12 double banana rooms. The facility also has 520,000 SF dry warehouse and battery charging areas to service 211 lifts. Other structures on site include a truck and trailer maintenance facility, a truck wash, and compressed natural gas and diesel fuel islands.

The facility was built at NorthPark, a 550-acre premiere business park east of Lambert-St. Louis International Airport and a joint venture between Clayco and McEagle. Other tenants include Express Scripts and a Hilton Garden Inn.
