SCAD Forty
Atlanta, GA
Promoting student life by increasing student capacity, adding amenities, and creating a dense urban campus.
SCAD Spring Street Forty Four and Forty Five is a two-tower mixed-use development and a design/build collaboration between LJC, Mackey Mitchell Architects, and Clayco. Located on the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) Midtown Atlanta campus, the project was completed in two phases. The first phase, SCAD Forty Four, included the North Residential Tower, Dining Hall, and Parking Garage. The second phase, SCAD Forty Five, included the South Residential Tower, a cinema-style theater with a multi-purpose black box, bookstore, classroom space, fitness center, and amenity pool deck. The footprint of both towers forms an inner courtyard, adding 2.5 acres of new, vibrant open space.
The new development prioritizes user experience and pedestrian circulation and celebrates the SCAD brand, providing occupants and residents with a safe and engaging environment. LJC’s extensive mixed-use high-rise experience and integrated delivery process were vital to maximizing the complexities of this program with the building construction type.
SCAD Spring Street Forty Four and Forty Five breathes new life into the campus and enhances students’ living experiences.
