24 E Washington 9th Floor NE Spec Suite
Chicago, IL
LJC partnered with the 191 N. Wacker team to reimagine the amenity experience as an extension of daily life rather than a collection of programmed spaces. LJC served as design architect and AOR, leading programming, design, documentation, construction administration, and furniture coordination to ensure a cohesive tenant experience.
Designed as a hospitality-driven environment, the full-floor amenity suite brings together conference, wellness, fitness, lounge, and social spaces into a connected experience that supports how people work, gather, and recharge throughout the day.
The design draws from the atmosphere and comfort of boutique hospitality environments while remaining grounded in the realities of a modern office building. Warm wood, natural stone, continuity across the floor. Existing conditions and operational constraints shaped a more disciplined approach to proportion, detailing, and material transitions, allowing the experience to feel refined without excess.
Anchored by the hearth lounge and north bar lounge, the amenity spaces create a welcoming rhythm of connection, gathering, and retreat. Framed by views of the Chicago River and skyline, the environment supports versatile use from informal meetings and conference breakouts to wellness, social interaction, and quiet moments throughout the day.
Rather than relying on branding or gesture, the project expresses identity through atmosphere, comfort, and material clarity. The result is an amenity experience that feels approachable, elevated, and enduring, positioning the building as a destination defined as much by how it feels as how it functions.
