191 N Wacker
Chicago, IL
As part of an ongoing repositioning effort at the historic Macy’s Flagship building, this speculative suite was designed to attract a diverse range of potential tenants seeking flexible, high-impact workspace. Building ownership and the leasing team envisioned a space that would balance timeless character with modern functionality to stand out in a competitive leasing market.
LJC’s design draws inspiration from the building’s original 1920s identity and the spirit of Chicago during that era. A palette of rich colors and dark woods evokes the elegance of the past, while clean lines and modern furnishings keep the space relevant for today’s workforce. To support a variety of work styles, the layout incorporates both open and enclosed work areas, interspersed with thoughtfully designed collaborative zones.
Signature features include a Speakeasy-style lounge that provides a quiet retreat, a central café designed to foster informal interaction, and a range of seating options, including semi-private booths. These amenities enhance tenant experience and align with evolving workplace expectations for hospitality-infused environments.
