The Edge on Euclid

Downtown Cleveland’s luxury off-campus university housing.

LJC engaged the client at 1750 Euclid with a strong desire to create a unique urban living experience within the public realm along its street edge and courtyard. Situated in downtown Cleveland, the eleven-story residential tower project lies directly across the street from Cleveland State University’s main campus. The building is organized about the site’s perimeter, creating a private 8,000 SF outdoor amenity plaza.

While the materials and finishes of the building have been selected to re-introduce the urban scale and architectural vocabulary of the neighboring Playhouse Square arts district, the site design activates and enhances the experience by engaging the user with a variety of outdoor program uses. An extension of the lobby amenity space, the external courtyard, with its “garden-themed” design, provides places for sitting, studying, conversation, leisure, cooking, and dining.
