St. Louis County Library – Guy and Judy Jaffe Family Branch

The St. Louis County Library – Guy and Judy Jaffe Family Branch in Chesterfield, Missouri, is a new 20,000-square-foot replacement library designed by LJC. Currently under construction, the new branch is located in the heart of a rapidly growing community and is designed to meet the evolving needs of library patrons and staff.

The new Chesterfield library will feature modern technology, expanded programming and enhanced amenities that support learning, gathering and community connection. Planned spaces include a dynamic children’s area, dedicated teen space, a larger community meeting room, eight study rooms and a coffee shop in partnership with Goshen Coffee Roasters.

The design also strengthens the connection between the library and its surrounding landscape. An outdoor patio and enhanced reading garden will extend the library experience beyond the building, providing additional opportunities for reading, gathering and connection.

LJC’s design approach considers the building’s placement, materials and overall aesthetic in relation to the character of the surrounding Chesterfield community. By bringing together the building, interior environments and landscape, the design is intended to create a cohesive, welcoming library experience that can serve the community for decades to come.

Construction is underway, with the new Guy and Judy Jaffe Family Branch expected to open in 2027.
