Allowing an existing campus to increase their services today while planning for future expansion.
Mercy Hospital Jefferson is located in Crystal City, Missouri. The existing campus was constructed in 1953 and expanded over the years to nearly 500,000 SF spread out over several buildings. In 2013, Lamar Johnson Collaborative was hired to expand the existing campus with a 90-bed inpatient tower, new public administration and waiting rooms and expanded emergency department. The project also includes significant renovations including: a new cardiology diagnostic department, fully renovated Labor and Delivery and Postpartum department, new gift shop and chapel, new outpatient clinics, and various renovations and updates throughout.
The new building is a 4-story structure with the capacity to expand vertically an additional three stories to accommodate future growth. The new tower has been connected to the existing facility through the new North and South galleries which are constructed utilizing glass to allow natural light to flood the public spaces. New entry canopies have been constructed at the hospital, clinic and emergency department entries as part of an entry rebranding of the facility.
