Hotel Vandivort – Phase I is the first centrally-located hotel in the heart of downtown Springfield, Missouri. Although it is now an upscale, independent boutique hotel, the over 100-year-old building was originally a Masonic Temple. This project was a historic tax credit rehabilitation developed by the McQueary Brothers that focused on the historical preservation and complete restoration of the building to its former glory. LJC successfully navigated the historical jurisdiction requirements for the project as part of the thriving revitalization movement in downtown Springfield.
Phase I involved converting this four-story, 40,000 SF building into fifty guest rooms with amenities. As a result, Hotel Vandivort was named Boutique Hotel of the Year in 2016, and Midwest Living Magazine recently recognized it as one of the Top Eleven Boutique Hotels in the Midwest.
Phase II is a newly constructed 42,000 SF ground-up expansion adjacent to the Phase I building. The expansion adds 48 rooms which include standard kings and 15 additional suites. The first floor houses a small gathering space, office and administrative rooms, a gym, and back-of-house operations. The crown jewel of Phase II is the fifth-floor sky bar. It is a 1,300 SF 4-seasons bar containing interior seating space with an almost 180-degree view of downtown Springfield.
