4300 E. Camelback (Phoenix)

The Clayco enterprise’s expansion in the Phoenix region required a new office space. Designing and building the space required creative solutions, given the tight timeframe and the office being in a newly constructed building. LJC rose to the challenge and designed a new single-floor office space with various features and facilities to accommodate the growing enterprise.

The new office features a graphic wall made from common and raw construction materials that convey Clayco’s identity as a construction firm, greeting employees and guests as they enter the space from the elevator lobby. The layout includes an employee lounge that offers breathtaking views of Camelback Mountain and a large expandable café area that can integrate into other spaces for hosting events. Additional spaces include a makerspace, a construction mock-up area, and a large training room to accommodate various events. In addition, there is a golf simulator, a resource materials library, a 3D print station, and a VR room.

The goal was to showcase the identity of an integrated full-service design and construction firm with a balance of raw materials and polished details while also incorporating authentic regional references. The enterprise’s collective input was critical during the design process to strategically locate spaces and configure room adjacencies to support various activities in the public-facing offices and employee-focused areas. As a result, LJC’s design is a stunning office space that perfectly meets the needs of the growing enterprise while showcasing the company’s identity as a construction firm.
