Phoenix, AZ
Ray Nashville, located in the heart of the rapidly evolving Pie Town neighborhood, represents a new chapter in Nashville’s architectural narrative.
Developed by VeLa Development Group and Ray, the project introduces a modern multi-family building designed to reflect the intersection of art, culture, and community. With its prominent position along Lafayette Street and proximity to downtown, Ray Nashville aims to be a defining feature in the city’s skyline, serving as a gateway to this dynamic area.
As the architect of record, LJC is working closely with the client and design team to bring this vision to life. While the exterior concept was crafted by Johnston Marklee, LJC is ensuring the project achieves its ambitious goals, applying our expertise in execution and design precision. The exterior, driven by the concept of “radical consistency,” showcases a bold white-ribbed façade and blue-tinted glass. Dynamic operable windows create a shifting interplay with the skyline, while a metal and glass canopy wraps the street-level, providing a welcoming and unique pedestrian experience.
Inside, Ray Nashville is designed to provide a wide range of living experiences. The 367 residential units offer a mix of studio, one, two, and three-bedroom options, including duplex units. Residents will enjoy an array of amenities such as co-working spaces, a gallery for local artists, fitness and yoga studios, a swimming pool, and spa.
Despite challenges like the site’s irregular shape and the coordination of 36 unique unit types, Ray Nashville’s design pushes the boundaries of urban living, setting a new standard for sophisticated, high-density housing in Nashville.
