Envisioning a permanent venue for arts and community events on a vacant parking lot in the heart of St. Louis.
Circus Flora, a St. Louis theater company featuring European circus traditions combined with original new artists, is emblematic of the community organizations gathering in the Grand Center Performance Green designed by Lamar Johnson Collaborative. The central green provides a setting custom-designed for Circus Flora’s big top, with seating for more than 1,100 people. The Performance Green provides ample space for other community and arts activities including a farmer’s market, ice skating, and arts festival. Enriching the already-vibrant arts community of the Grand Center Arts District, the Performance Green is a central gathering space showcasing the assets of this vibrant neighborhood.
