430 N. Michigan Ave.

GNP Realty Partners had an ambitious goal to modernize the Realtor Building by renovating and repositioning the existing building’s lobby and entrance to reinvigorate and rebrand the client’s presence along Michigan Ave. LJC’s interior design team worked with the building owners to complete the lobby, conference center, and a new tenant courtyard.

The new building façade is designed with full-height glazing, creating a refined composition highlighting the National Association of Realtors brand and connecting the entrance to the streetscape. Extensive coordination was required to seamlessly incorporate the new glazing system within the existing façade.

Inspired by traditional building archetypes, arched forms define place and movement within the new lobby. The main reception desk overlooks a new outdoor terrace through the floor-to-ceiling glass mullion and curtain wall system, seamlessly connecting the interior to the landscape while harnessing the natural light to enhance the lobby’s sculptural quality.

The outdoor plaza adjacent to the building entrance, which will be completed in 2024, acts as an urban pocket park layering outdoor seating, natural screen wall, and landscape. This new outdoor space creates a new amenity for building occupants and the public.
