Lamar Johnson Collaborative Welcomes Meghan Dougovito

DENVER, CO – February 12, 2024 – Lamar Johnson Collaborative (LJC) recently welcomed Meghan Dougovito, NCIDQ, IIDA, LEED GA, to its integrated architecture and design firm. Meghan joins the team as a Principal and Senior Interior Designer and, in partnership with Denver-based LJC Associate Principal Stephen Mayer, will help expand the design practice in the Rocky Mountain region.

Serving as the director of interiors for 13 years at her previous firm, Meghan brings nearly 20 years of experience in the Denver market to LJC with a deep portfolio of interiors work that includes commercial repositioning, corporate interiors, multifamily, and preservation and adaptive reuse. Notable projects include: Boston Consulting Group (BCG) office build-outs in Austin, Chicago, Denver, and Detroit; historic restoration of Denver Union Station and The Crawford Hotel retrofit within; the History Colorado Center; interior build-out of the Google Boulder campus; and the Park Towne Place Museum District Residences in Philadelphia.

In addition to being a design leader, Meghan has emerged as a business leader in the field through her thoughtful client relationship cultivation skills. “When I meet with a client, I want to understand their business model and how we can craft solutions that address their organizational strategies and business goals,” Dougovito said. “Good design is about remembering the humanistic aspect of what we do. I am most excited about the culture at LJC and promoting and building upon that here in Denver—putting together a group of people passionate about and knowledgeable in what they do, listening, and then giving them room to do what they do best.”

“Meghan is a great fit for us because she shares our vision and values,” said LJC Founder Lamar Johnson, FAIA. “We are thrilled about the opportunity to bring LJC to the region; not only is Meghan incredibly talented and connected in this market, she gives us the opportunity to build our presence here in a way that reflects LJC as a whole.”

“As the LJC practice continues to grow, our firm has been focusing on onboarding ‘the best and brightest’ and creating synergies across the skillsets of these individuals,” said LJC President, Sarah Jacobson, AIA. “Meghan will be a vital contribution to these efforts.”
