Applying lessons learned from a previous OTC project toward enhancing operational efficiencies in the new OTC Republic facility.
Ozarks Technical Community College (OTC), one of Ozark’s largest community colleges, is a two-year higher learning institution that offers a wide variety of academic courses. The new OTC-Republic facility is one of seven campus locations across southwest Missouri. Following the successful execution of the OTC Waynesville Education Center, LJC also designed and developed its new OTC Republic Education Center. The design team applied the Waynesville lessons learned toward replicating and improving the design for this new facility. This facility sits on a 7.7-acre donated site by the Bussey, Cox, and Lipscomb families and named Bussey-Cox-Lipscomb Hall in their honor.
Applying warm and earthy tones throughout, this new single-story laboratory and classroom building features three labs, supported by eight general classrooms. Also included are two computer science labs, a student commons area, and testing, writing, and learning centers. Preparing for the future and the school’s growth, the team has planned for a 10,000 SF expansion on the building’s west side.
