MERCY HOSPITAL ST. LOUIS
A clinic designed to enhance the patient experience.
Lamar Johnson Collaborative designed the new six-story Mercy Outpatient Center as part of the Mercy Hospital Campus in St. Louis, Missouri. In addition to multi-specialty clinics, the project also includes a five-story garage, a central utility plant and mechanical yard. The Outpatient Center program includes an ambulatory surgery center, GI Lab, imaging, urgent care, outpatient lab-draw, PACE clinic, outpatient rehab/ gym, retail pharmacy, gift shop, retail optical shop, café, outpatient physician clinics, wound center, patient services and shared staff support space.
The exterior palette of the Outpatient Center combines warm and natural materials including brick, natural stone, cast stone and precast cladding with a two and half story glass lantern representing a beacon of light for Mercy’s brand recognition. The site layout seeks to minimize the patient travel distance, with improved way-finding creating a welcoming path of travel from the parking area to the clinic entrance for enhancement of the patient experience.
