A.M. 1980 RESIDENCES
Multi-family housing in the heart of Bucktown and Wicker Park.
Located near the popular neighborhoods of Wicker Park and Bucktown, this 132-unit building takes advantage of Chicago’s new transit-oriented development (TOD) ordinance and has easy access to public transportation. The site enjoys proximity to shopping, restaurants, and nightlife. Also, nearby is the 606, Chicago’s new biking and walking trail, providing block after block of uninterrupted trails as an additional amenity to the site.
This high level of traffic means that the A.M. 1980 mural is now a widely-seen image. This vibrant piece of art not only reflects the character of the neighborhood, it acts as an identifier for the building itself and setting it apart. The muralist, Mauricio Ramirez, goal was to create a dialogue with the community by connecting them with a local cultural icon of the Logan Square Eagle.
